On Jaunuary 30, 1882 a baby
boy named Franklin D. Roosevelt was born. He was named after his uncle
Franklin. Franklin weighed 10 pounds when he was born. Franklin's
mother and father's names were James and Sara Franklin. James Franklin
was a president for a railroad company. They lived in a plesant and
luxurious house by the Hudson river. They were really rich and most of
their neighbors were too. The Roosevelts had a summer house on an
island called Campobello, off the coast of Canada. They got to their
island by sailing on their very own boat. Franklin wanted to be a
sailor when he grew up. He listened to his father when ever he talked
aboat sailing. Franklin loved stuff so much that he wore a sailor suit
all day long. Then one day Franklin's mother told him to put on his
best clothes.
When Franklin was older he had a prep school that he went to. When
Franklin was about ten the Roosevelt's summer house got burned down.
Franklin did a lot of sailing and horse back riding. He liked to
explore
and to go sleding too. When Franklin was a lot older he got
married to a lady named Eleanor. In about four years Franklin and
Eleanor Roosevelt had five kids. When the Roosevelt's kids were about
five or older the Roosevelts went to Washington. In about a few months
Franklin became a navy man. On a warm summer day on August 12, the
Roosevelt's summer house got burt down. In about 1920 Franklin's legs
gave up and he had to get a wheelchair. Franklin had to be in a
wheelchair for about four years. Then in about 1924, Franklin used
crutches. In about 1926 Franklin wanted to work back to health by
swimming in
Hyde Park. On November 7, 1928, Franklin was president. On Jaunuary
1, 1929 Franklin stood up for governor, and he made it. In 1936
Franklin was in war with Europe. On December 8, 1941 Franklin fought in
World War 2.
